Kraken Black Spiced Rum is distilled in pot stills on the Virgin Islands and fermented from naturally sweet molasses made from sugarcane grown on nearby riverbanks. Natural yeasts are used to ferment the water thinned molasses, which is converted directly into alcohol. Kraken Rum is then aged in oak barrels between 12 and 24 months before being blended with over 11 spices,including vanilla, cinnamon, ginger and clove. The Kraken Rum takes its name from the mythical sea beast which, as legend has it, attacked tall ships throughout history. This spiced rum is meant to be as strong as the kraken while its black colour is as dark as squid ink! It is beautifully presented in a classic shaped bottle with two handles, a replica of a Victorian Rum bottles of old. All added ingredients are natural, and the Kraken is gluten-free!
